Quick Writing Tips

Start in the middle: Don't write "One day..." Jump into the action!

Use the 5 senses: What can your character see, hear, smell, taste, and touch?

Add feelings: Is your character happy, scared, excited, or confused?

Make problems: Stories need conflict! What goes wrong?

Show, don't tell: Instead of "He was scared," write "His hands shook."

Use "because" and "but": These magic words make sentences more interesting!
